A SIDE OF FAITH by Krista Phillips
Krista
Phillips is the author of Sandwich, with
a Side of Romance and A Side of Faith.
She enjoys life with her husband and their four beautiful daughters in
Tennessee. She is an advocate for congenital heart defect and organ donation
awareness and blogs at www.kristaphillips.com.
Welcome, Krista. If you
could have dinner with one person from today or history (except Jesus) who
would it be?
Mary,
Jesus' mother. Seriously, being a mom to God's son? I have so many
how-to-be-a-good-mom questions I'd love to ask her!!
Please
tell us a little about your novel, A Side
of Faith.
I'd love to! A Side of
Faith is a novella sequel to my first novel, Sandwich, with a Side of Romance.
He is everything she never wanted...
Rachel Carter is on top of the world. A new job in a new
town, friends, and a house to call her own. Men? Eh, someday. And when the time
comes, she’ll go for a nice safe geek or something. She will NOT be repeating
the mistakes of her youth.
But then Cameron Foster comes knocking on her door, reminding her of the man she vows never to think of again.
God wouldn’t send her a man who reminds her of everything she is trying to put behind her...would He?

What
takeaway value do you want your readers to have?
You know, my daughter and I had a great discussion about
this. She read my book and did a book report on it for school (she thinks it's
cool that her mom writes!) Anyway, we were talking about the takeaway message
of the book, and she told me that it was not to judge someone by how they look
on the outside.
I thought about that for a bit. There is definitely that
element in there, but it goes much deeper too. Rachel didn't just judge Cameron
because of his hair color or height. She let what she'd gone through in the
past dictate how she was going to live her present. She put limits on God,
instead of allowing him full reign in her life.
That's what I hope readers get out of the book. That your
past should stay in the past, and to keep your heart open to what God has for
you today.
Where
can readers find you online?
