DANDELIONS FOR DINNER
by Valerie Comer
Valerie Comer is our guest blogger. Valerie’s life on a small farm in western Canada provides the seed for stories of contemporary inspirational romance. Like many of her characters, Valerie and her family grow much of their own food and are active in the local foods movement as well as their creation-care-centric church. She only hopes her creations enjoy their happily-ever-afters as much as she does hers, shared with her husband, adult kids, and adorable granddaughters.
Valerie writes Farm Lit where food meets faith, injecting experience laced with humor into her award-winning Farm Fresh Romance stories.
Valerie, welcome! If you could have dinner with one person from today or history (except Jesus) who would it be?
I'd love to have dinner with Matthew and Nancy Sleeth, who are Christian advocates for creation care. I'm sure conversation would be very interesting and challenging.
Dandelions for Dinner finds man-hater Allison Hart building a house and farm school at Green Acres when she gains custody of her nephew. Too bad contractor Brent Callahan builds a rapport with the boy. Can Brent tear down the walls around her heart or will their secrets push them apart forever?
Dandelions for Dinner is the fourth (of six) novels in the Farm Fresh Romance series, which follows the adventures, romantic and otherwise, of a group of young women who band together to buy a farm where they plan to grow their own food and live as sustainably as possible.
What takeaway value do you want your readers to have?
I want readers to laugh, cry, and wish that Allison, Brent, and young Finnley were real people they could love on. I want readers to be reminded that, no matter what is in our past, Jesus loves us, forgives us, and gives us hope for a glorious future.
