     LOVE’S GLORY by Darlene Franklin

Darlene Franklin’s greatest claim to fame is that she writes

full-time from a nursing home. She lives in Oklahoma, near her son and his family, and continues her interests in playing the piano and singing, books, good fellowship, and reality TV in addition to writing. She is an active member of Oklahoma City Christian Fiction Writers, American Christian Fiction Writers, and the Christian Authors Network. Poetry is her newest passion. She has written over thirty novels as well as more than 250 devotionals.

Welcome, Darlene. If you could have dinner with one person from today or history (except Jesus) who would it be?
I would like to have been a fly on the wall listening to the discussions between Mary and Luke. How much more did Luke learn about Mary than what is revealed in his gospel? Her perspective on Jesus’ life and the birth of Christianity would be unlike anyone else’s, but she seems to have been a very private person.

Please tell us a little about your novel, Love’s Glory.
I’m offering a patriotic novella for Kindle, Love’s Glory:

LIES AND BETRAYAL CHASE BETH FROM HER HOME TOWN.

It’s 1919. Everything is changing—cars are common and airplanes helped win the War to End All Wars. Even the German-Americans of New Brandenburg, Texas, renamed their town Old Glory to prove their patriotism.

None of that matters to Beth Smith. In 1917, her boyfriend Garan Schmidt enlisted in the Army—and left her pregnant. She left home and built a new life for herself and their daughter.

When Garan finds Beth and their daughter in May 1919, he is eager to make amends and start over. Beth is unsure if she is ready to tell the truth that will set them free.

What takeaway value do you want your readers to have?
I wrote with one takeaway value in mind, and readers mention another, both valid. Mine was along the lines of “the truth shall set you free”—Garan and Beth had to admit the truth of what happened before they could be free of their past.

Readers mention the theme of forgiveness: Beth had to forgive Garan for abandoning her in her time of need.

Any parting comment?
Thank for having me as your guest! And check out my next title, Jacob’s Christmas Dream, scheduled for release on August 8th, the first in the Christmas Mail Order Angels series. When the Black Hills gold rush winds down in Angel Vale, Wyoming, Jacob Underwood joins with his friend Matt Thomas in bringing mail order brides to Angel Vale. The prosperous store owner is drawn to the pastor’s daughter, Becky Patterson, and the attraction is mutual—until God calls Jake into the ministry.

Darlene, thank you for visiting with my readers. One of the commenters will win a Kindle eBook copy of Love's Glory, which you've offered.

The winner of last Thursday’s blog post for a copy of Sunrise by Scott J. Abel is Sheila H. I’ll email you. Thanks all for commenting. Watch for more book giveaways.

Till next time … keep on smiling.
