               by Amber Schamel

Author of over half a dozen books, Amber Schamel writes riveting stories that bring HIStory to life. She has a passion for travel, history, books and her Savior. This combination results in what her readers call "historical fiction at its finest."  She lives in Colorado and spends half her time volunteering in the Ozarks. Visit her online at her website.

Welcome, Amber. If you could have dinner with one person from today or history (except Jesus) who would it be? Why?
That's a tough one! There are so many people I would love to have a chance to talk to. Right now, I would really like to sit down with Dr. Ben Carson and talk to him about history and the current state of our nation. I'd love to get his view on the Presidential race and what he predicts will happen.

What fun or unique things can you tell us about yourself?
Haha, where do I even start…okay, here it goes.
I am the second born of 12 children.
I was first published at the age of 21.
I have a fascination with accents. Australian and Scottish are my favorite. Oh, and British. And…

Where is your favorite vacation spot?
Anywhere that involves history. I have had the blessing of visiting a lot of historical places including Israel, Egypt, Rome and Greece. I would love to go back to any of those places. Oh, and I would LOVE to visit Scotland.

What can your readers expect from you next?
I'm working on another Christmas story! It's set during the civil war. The story is about Caleb, a young would-be lawyer, who flees his failure by joining the Union army. But when his best friend is condemned for desertion, he begs Caleb to plead his case. Caleb must face his failure and greatest fear in an effort to save his friend's life and secure THE CHRISTMAS PARDON.

What can readers who enjoy your book do to help make it successful?
Writing a review and telling all your friends about the book is the best way to compliment an author. People are more likely to purchase and read a book that has been recommended to them by someone they know and trust. That’s why readers are actually the most valuable marketing a writer has. Thanks, readers!

Please tell us a little about your novel, The Master’s Calling.
After generations of waiting, the Messiah has come at last. And not a day too soon. All his life, Malon

Ben-Tyrus has been stifled beneath Roman laws and religious traditions, and he longs to be free. The oppression of the Romans worsens every day, and the religious system led by the Scribes and Pharisees has grown corrupt.

Malon believes his life calling is to become a disciple of the Messiah and help free Israel from bondage.  When Jesus heads to Jerusalem for the Passover feast, Malon knows this will be a historic event. Jesus will enter the city as the Son of David and take His place as the Messiah of Israel. He longs to follow Jesus to Jerusalem, but his family won't allow him to go.

When at last his family consents, Malon arrives in Jerusalem only to discover that he is too late. The man he thought to be the Messiah has been crucified, and Barabbas—his greatest enemy—has been set free.

Appalled by the cowardice of Jesus' disciples, Malon returns home seething with frustration and despair. Everything he believed he was destined to become died with Jesus. Was he wrong about his destiny?

Where can readers find you online?
I love to connect with readers on any of the social media sites, but Goodreads and Facebook are my favorite.
