A SECOND CHANCE
by Alexis Goring
Welcome, Alexis. If you could have dinner with one person from today or history (except Jesus) who would it be? Why?
I’d love to eat dinner with President Barack Obama’s family (Barack, Michelle and their daughters) because they are wonderful and I believe God used them to make a wonderful difference in the world during Barack’s eight years as our President. I’d love to hear what they’re doing now and how they are adjusting to “normal” life.
What fun or unique things can you tell us about yourself?
#1: When lost on the cobblestone streets of Italy with my friend and her fiancé, we stumbled upon a beautiful bridal shop and there in the window display was my DREAM wedding dress!
#2: If I weren’t so scared of hurting myself, I’d take ice skating lessons.
#3: I’m a natural in step class at the gym. I love it and can keep up!
What can your readers expect from you next?
Readers can expect two stories published as standalones. One is about a family-owned bakery in the heart of NW Washington, D.C. and focuses on the characters that love it. The other story is about a wedding photographer who’s never been in love until she meets the man who loves her with all of his heart.
What can readers who enjoy your book do to help make it successful?
Readers who enjoyed reading A Second Chance can help me make it successful by promoting it on social media. “Like” my Author Page on Facebook. Follow me on Twitter. Write good reviews of my book and publish it online (Amazon.com, B&N, Christianbook.com, Books-A-Million etc.). Tell your family, friends, colleagues, pastors…tell everyone you know and encourage them to buy a copy. Request my book whenever you go to a bookstore and ask your local libraries to order it.
Please tell us a little about your novel, A Second Chance.
Newly single food critic and newspaper reporter Traci Hightower is done with dating. After the man of her dreams left her at the altar on their wedding day and ran off with the woman she thought was her best friend, Traci resolves to focus on work and resigns herself to being a bachelorette for life.
Marc Roberts is a political reporter who is known as Mr. Nice Guy, the one who always finishes last. However, Marc’s compassion and kindness are of invaluable help to his newly widowed sister Gina Braxton who is trying to raise her two kids in the wake of her firefighter husband’s death.
Traci and Marc may be the perfect match, but they don’t know it yet. With God’s guidance and the help of Gina’s matchmaking skills honed by her career as a bestselling romance novelist, there is hope for a happily ever after for these two broken hearts.
