A DANGEROUS LEGACY
By Elizabeth Camden

Elizabeth Camden
Elizabeth Camden is the author of ten historical novels and two historical novellas and has been honored with both the RITA Award and the Christy Award. With a master’s in history and a master’s in library science, she is a research librarian by day and scribbles away on her next novel by night. She lives with her husband in Florida. Learn more at her website.

From the book’s back cover:
Telegraph operator Lucy Drake is a master of Morse code and has made herself a valuable asset to the Associated Press news agency. But the sudden arrival of Sir Colin Beckwith at rival British news agency Reuters puts her hard-earned livelihood at risk. Colin is talented, handsome, insufferably charming—and keeping a secret that jeopardizes his reputation.

Despite their rivalry, Lucy can’t deny that Colin has the connections she needs to give her family an edge in the long legal battle they’ve been waging over their rightful inheritance. But when she negotiates an unlikely alliance with him, the web of treachery they dive into proves to be far more dangerous than they ever could have known.

From Jo:
Elizabeth Camden has written another winner! This historical inspirational romance is chock full of the sweet love between a young American woman and a member of British royalty. They each experience a burdensome family legacy that they cannot turn their back on, yet one that keeps them apart. This book’s pages hold suspense enough to keep you turning pages until the end. When you finish the book you’ll probably feel you know Lucy and Colin, their characters are so well written and developed. And the historical facts surrounding the story are woven into the story at precisely the correct amount and at the appropriate times.

  1. Sounds like an intriguing mystery!

I know Elizabeth has written quite a few books and I think I even have one or two on my bookshelf but I don't think I have ready any. Maybe I should correct that in 2018!

  4. I am a follower. I have read and enjoyed two of Elizabeth's books. This seems to have an added layer of interest in the lead character excelling in a skill which was probably more of a man's profession, back in the day. Thanks for the review! dobeworld at sbcglobal dot net

  12. Lovely review, Jo. I'm usually impressed with Camden's books regardless, but the story of an American commoner and British royalty seems very apropos right now. :-) And, yes, I follow your blog via email. Thank you. tlhcoupon(at)hotmail(dot)com
