UNTIL I MET YOU
BY KIMBERLY ROSE JOHNSON

INCLUDED IN THE COLLECTION,
A CHRISTMAS TO REMEMBER

Kimberly Rose Johnson
Award-winning author Kimberly Rose Johnson married her college sweetheart and lives in the Pacific Northwest. From a young child, Kimberly has been an avid reader. That love of reading fostered a creative mind and led to her passion for writing. She especially loves romance and writes contemporary romance that warms the heart and feeds the soul.

Kimberly holds a degree in Behavioral Science from Northwest University in Kirkland, Washington, and is a member of American Christian Fiction Writers.
You can learn more about Kimberly and her books at her website.

Welcome, Kimberly. Do you type or write by hand? Computer? Typewriter? Legal pad?
I work on a computer. Once in a while if inspiration strikes and I’m not near a computer I’ll write it out, but my penmanship is atrocious so it’s often hard to know what I wrote after the fact.

What was the main inspiration for the new book? Had the idea been on your mind for a while or just popped into it one day?
The main inspiration for Until I Met You was the first book in the series, The Reluctant Groom. I wanted to tell the story of a couple that was in that book, so I wrote a prequel. The inspiration for the collection was born from my desire to do a group of never before published Christmas stories.

Why do you feel compelled to write—in your genre or at all?
I feel compelled to write because I can’t not write. I took a break from writing a while back and I started dreaming as though I was writing. He said, she said kind of thing. It was crazy. That was when I knew my break from writing was over.

MOUNTAIN OF PERIL
BY CAROL NEMETH

Carol Nemeth
A native North Carolinian, I always loved reading since childhood and making up stories since junior high school. I worked in the National Park Service and served in the US Army where I was stationed in Italy. I met the love of my life, Mark Nemeth, also an Army veteran, while stationed in Italy. After we married, we lived in various locations including North Yorkshire, England. We now live in West Virginia, where in our spare time, Mark and I enjoy camping and sightseeing. We’re active in our church and enjoy our two grown children, son-in-law, and three grandchildren.

Welcome, Carol. What takeaway value do you hope your readers receive after reading your book?
I hope they see my characters grow closer to Christ, either by coming to know Him through salvation or through strengthening their faith in Him. Just as we struggle in real life, my characters struggle at various levels in their walk with Christ.

What’s your favorite place you have visited?
I served in the U.S. Army and was blessed to have traveled to sixteen countries excluding the U.S. I suppose my favorite place would be Scotland. It’s a beautiful and wild countryside with wonderful and strong people and an interesting history. Not so nice weather, but hang around. It’ll change.

Why do you feel compelled to write—in your genre or at all?
When I was a young teen, my mother introduced me to Grace Livingston Hill, and I devoured her books, sometimes one a day. I loved the mystery of her books as well as the romance. So, mystery romance is my favorite genre whether it’s contemporary or historical. I have a hard time writing strictly romance and have to throw in some mystery.

When Molly Walker graduated from college, she was thrilled to be hired on as a ranger at Deep Creek Campground in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. She arrived ready to begin her career and to enjoy all the aspects of her new job, but the one thing she hadn’t counted on was the local poachers and their illegal shenanigans. Molly and fellow ranger Jake Stuart try to put a stop to the escalating poaching problem while protecting the animals. In the meantime, Molly finds that the handsome ranger, who is also a local, is a great partner to have on her side. She also finds that she’s losing her heart to him when she’d planned to stay focused on her career. Can she give her heart and have a career? She and Jake find themselves in a battle against a group of men with a hidden agenda far more sinister than poaching. Can they be stopped before Molly’s life is snuffed out?

WHEN THE HEART SINGS
BY LIZ TOLSMA

Liz Tolsma
Liz Tolsma is the author of several WWII novels, an Amish novel, and prairie romance novellas. Her first romantic suspense releases in June. She is a popular speaker and an editor and resides next to a Wisconsin farm field with her husband and their youngest daughter and their Jack Russell terrier. Her son is a U.S. Marine, and her oldest daughter is a college student. She enjoys reading, walking, working in her large perennial garden, kayaking, and camping.

Welcome, Liz. What takeaway value do you hope your readers receive after reading your book?
I hope that they take away the truth that joy doesn’t come from our circumstances or from getting what we want, but that our only source of true joy is the Lord.

What is your favorite dessert? If you don’t like sweets. What is your favorite meal?
My favorite dessert is gluten-free crepes with Nutella and whipped cream. Yummmm.

How do people react when they find out you write?
It’s so funny. Many of them are so excited to meet a “real writer”. They want to talk to me about writing and my books. Sometimes they even want to take a picture with me.

Natia has a secret—and she’s hiding him right beneath her captor’s nose.

In 1943 Poland, the Nazis have forced Natia and Teodor from their peaceful farm to the harsh confines of a labor camp. When the couple is separated, Natia is chosen to be the housekeeper for the camp’s overseer, and Teodor is sent to work in the factory. Despite the strict camp rules—and the consequences for disobeying them—Natia finds a way to communicate with Teodor by sending messages through song as she passes Teodor’s dormitory.

The stakes get higher when Natia finds a Jewish orphan on the overseer’s doorstep. She is determined to protect the boy and raise him as the child she and her husband were unable to bear—but if her German captors discover how much she’s hiding, both she and Teodor may pay the ultimate price.)

THE SECRET OF WILLOW INN
BY PAT NICHOLS

Pat Nichols
Pat Nichols launched career number two as a novelist, proving it’s never too late to follow your dreams. Drawing on years of corporate experience working with hundreds of amazing women from all walks of life, she creates stories about women who face challenges in the pursuit of their dreams. She lives in an Atlanta suburb with her husband of fifty-plus years, is the mother of two, and grandmother of three. She is grateful for God’s blessings and unfailing love through all of life’s peaks and valleys.

Please enjoy the article below by Pat Nichols about her writing The Secret of Willow Inn.

My Journey to Willow Falls
by Pat Nichols

After completing two works of fiction based on real people—neither manuscript was ready for primetime—the key characters in my third novel came straight out of my imagination. Two women, strangers from different backgrounds, and a convicted felon returning to the scene of her crime. I visualized them for more than a year. The way they looked, their personalities and their history. It was time to bring Emily, Rachel, and Sadie to life.

Next came a decision about the settings. A small town struggling to survive and a big, bustling metropolis. Because I live thirty miles from downtown Atlanta, I chose it as the city. I can’t count the number of times I used Google Earth to pinpoint locations I used in the story. Although I’m old enough to know about slide rules, I’m grateful modern technology allows me to conduct research from my living room. Not that I don’t like to get out and about. It’s simply a more efficient use of time.

When it came to the second setting, I wanted to create a community I could conform to the story.  Beginning with a row of century-old storefronts facing a lakeside park and a block-long section graced with seven southern-style, antebellum homes. An abandoned hotel and historical general store completed the scene. Named after a fifty-foot waterfall and lush willow oaks, Willow Falls emerged. To solidify the details in my mind, I drew a map of my imaginary town. I’ve often pictured myself strolling along the streets chatting with the cast of quirky characters.  As I began fleshing out the story, it’s amazing where the journey took me and my characters. More than once they surprised the heck out of me. My family thinks I’m slightly off-kilter when I talk about them as if they lived down the street.

Not long after finishing the manuscript I was blessed to receive a contract from Lighthouse Publishing of the Carolinas (LPC). The first task from my acquisition editor? Add 20,000 words. Yikes. When I recovered from the shock, I got busy creating two additional characters and thirteen more chapters. The result was a story with greater depth and a few more twists. We were well into the second round of edits before settling on the title. The Secret of Willow Inn was the number one choice among readers who participated in a survey.

From the beginning, I wanted this book to be the first in a series. In April I signed a second contract with LPC. Book two in the Willow Falls saga is scheduled to release in January 2020. Although a title hasn’t been selected, I’m leaning toward Percy’s Legacy. I’m currently working on book three, with plans to continue the series until it comes to a logical conclusion sometime in the distant future. After all, there is much in store for Emily, Rachel, and Sadie. Plus, Willow Falls is rich with possibilities.

Working with Lighthouse Publishing has been a pleasure and although I began my writing career late in life, I am grateful for the opportunity to pursue my passion. How long will I continue writing? Until God takes me home or I wake up one morning and totally forget where I left my computer. I’m counting on the first happening before the second.

Welcome, Pat. What is your favorite dessert?
Real key lime pie. The dense, tart version.

What is your favorite meal?
Salmon grilled on a cedar plank with dill sauce on the side. Yellowfin tuna is a close second.

What’s your favorite place you have visited?
My husband and I have been blessed to complete our worldwide travel bucket list. Thanks to lots of travel points accumulated during my twenty-five-year career in the corporate world. My favorites are Venice, Italy and Eze, France.

Lightning Round:
Vacation: Beach or Mountains? Mountains

Y’all or You Guys? Definitely y’all. Although I was born in Illinois, I was raised in Florida and have called Georgia home since the eighties.

Biscuits or Dinner Roll? Dinner roll, whole wheat.

Spring, summer, winter, or fall? There’s something to love about every season. I suppose my favorite is fall.

Laptop or Desktop? Laptop

Mug or teacup? Mug. I might be the only southerner who doesn’t care for tea, sweetened or unsweetened.

Please tell us a little about your novel, The Secret of Willow Inn.
Two women fighting for their dreams, one who’s long-lost hers, are united by tragedy and a long-held secret.

Pregnant with her first child, Emily Hayes is eager to help her mother finish transforming an estate into the Willow Inn and write a novel about Willow Falls’ colorful history. A tragic event threatens her parents’ plans to refurbish an abandoned hotel and transform the obscure Georgia setting into a tourist destination.

Sadie Lyles left Willow Falls a murderer who’d killed the town hero. She returns as a despised felon and seeks solace in the town’s cafĂ©. Emily struggles to unite the close-knit community and becomes Sadie’s biggest advocate. She strives to uncover the truth about the crime and save her town from dying.

To appease her father, Rachel, a VP in his Atlanta real-estate-development firm, relegates her acting dream to secret performances for imaginary audiences. After meeting charming, flirtatious Charlie Bricker, manager for Willow Falls’ future vineyard, she vows to break free from her father’s control.

The tragedy and Willow Inn’s secret past launch Emily and Rachel on a collision course with destiny and truth.
